Exclusive to UK audiences back in 1985, this giant-size sticker gamebook turns the D&D cartoon into a hands-on adventure. You play Eric the Cavalier (yes, him!) in a quest to assemble a magical crystal and stop Kelek, Venger, and Tiamat - all while decorating every scene with reusable stickers. It’s part puzzle, part story, and entirely nostalgic.

This Week’s Rediscovered Realms Theme Song:
In a twilight glen where legends linger, a lone unicorn wanders - last of its kind, voice lost to time, heart bound to hope. With haunting melodies and timeless sorrow, this song echoes the cry of a mythic soul searching for kin across the stars. Will the dawn bring reunion… or solitude eternal?
And actually, it’s been sitting in one of my many glorious piles awaiting public revelation for quite some time.
Just like my sticker book collections of old (“Stuck on Stickers”, anyone?), I always seem to “save” the special things for the special times.
Having just attended Donnie Most’s music concert last night, I felt the time was right. (BTW - Donnie’s big band concert was amazing - he can really sing!)
Some of the faces of Donnie Most!
So, out of respect for Donnie’s Eric the Cavalier, let’s take a peek inside this GIANT (measures over 12” tall and over 9” wide) book!
You Play as Eric the Cavalier – Unlike other tie‑ins, here you control Eric from the Saturday morning show. (The “Dungeons & Dragons Cartoon Show Books” of the era skipped him, so this is a welcome & unique touch!)
Not sure how they didn’t get in trouble for using the term “Choose Your Own Adventure” on the front and back of the book, though!
Interactive nostalgia – Comes with sticker sheets and scenery backgrounds where fans can stick and re-stick characters - like early Colorforms, but for D&D!

Here’s a 2-page landscape centerfold spread where you can stick the crew.
And here’s another scene you can customize:
Marvel & TSR teamed up to create 4 AD&D coloring books (and one mysterious GIANT coloring book). From Rediscovered Realms archive:Magical AD&D Coloring Books
The Mystery of Allen Sharp
Many adventurers have gone on the quest to find out more about the writer of this D&D TV Show sticker book, Allen Sharp.
It appears he authored a well-received gamebook series in the 80s called “Storytrails”. There seem to be a TON of these books of which I never knew about!
(Bobby, looking like Venger just left a 💩 inside his helmet.)
(Venger, celebrating his scatological victory before flying off)
Your next piece of fantasy fun is calling.

Tiamat!
Rare UK-exclusive edition – Published by Purnell Books and sold under Marks & Spencer’s St Michael label, this was never released in the U.S., making it a sought-after collectors’ item.
A Hook Horror, in the vein of the LJN toys of the time!
From the Rediscovered Realms archives: “Ode to Uni”
What about the artist, John Storey?
I really like John’s line art in this book, but couldn’t find out more about him online.
Although . . .
It appears that this Instagram page may be his, considering his UK locale, age, and a couple fantasy-like pieces he posted. Be forewarned - there are a lot of, ahem, nude watercolors on the site. Like, probably 90%. Well, maybe more like 95%.
The dreaded Dragonne! I hear it has a taste for Unicorn flesh.
And Godzil, err, I mean Tiamat!
And with that last scene of horror emblazoned into your mind (along with decapitated Unicorn heads and hideous demon-like monsters) we finish our tour.
This oversized Dungeons & Dragons sticker gamebook from 1985 packs everything a fan could want: beloved characters, an interactive storyline, and some satisfying sticker play. It's not just a relic from our past - it's a portal to Saturday morning nostalgia that millions of us shared together. And while the book may be short, the kind of magic it stirs up truly can last a lifetime.

Unicorn’s Lament [Verse] In the shadowed glen where the moss does creep I wander alone while the willows weep My horn a beacon to none who see A lonely light in eternity [Chorus] Oh where are they my kin my kind In the winds I search in the stars I pine A thousand years a thousand cries Yet still I rise yet still I rise [Verse 2] The brook it whispers the tales of old Of silver herds and hearts of gold But the echoes fade like a fleeting dream And I’m left with silence and moonlight’s gleam [Prechorus] Am I the last am I the end Will no one call me friend [Chorus] Oh where are they my kin my kind In the winds I search in the stars I pine A thousand years a thousand cries Yet still I rise yet still I rise [Bridge] But lo the dawn with its fiery crest Calls me forth on a fateful quest The world may turn the stars may fall But hope remains I’ll find them all
Some great art pieces in there, though it does look like Uni end up in the Swamp of Sadness in at least on of those pictures.
Loved that Saturday morning cartoon... pjs, bowl of cereal and hours of cartoons! Life's never been the same since.
