Rediscovered Realms spent months curating the most epic fantasy merch storefront ever created. 20 lists (and growing) including hundreds of the coolest old school & new fantasy books, games, movies & merch you used to have, wished you still had, or hope to someday have. (And if you don’t want any of it, I bet there’s someone in your life who does.)
Join Brodryk, the Rediscovered Realms’ shopkeep as he gives a tour of some of the most wondrous items on his shelves.
You’ll thrill to classic items that will bring back joyous memories and you’ll salivate over exciting merch you never knew existed!
I asked him for a little time to talk about 3 of my favorite fantasy purchases of the year (including the coolest dragon-book-booklight you’ll ever see in your life!)
BTW: There are tons of Black Friday deals & other big sales running now, so you won’t want to miss this issue.

J.Q.’s Picks
A favorite pick of mine from this shelf is “Horror, Fantasy & Sci-Fi Words” Poetry Tiles.
I picked up a set of these a few weeks ago and love the random creativity that ensues. I can play with them on metal surfaces or a table (or floor!), and they give that creative inspirational boost for writing, game ideas, or just fun.
They’re high-quality and can be combined with other Poetry Tile sets for even more variety.
It takes about 20 minutes or so to break apart all the words, but then the fun is on!
I found that keeping the loose words in a Ziploc bag (they won’t fit back into the box after being broken apart) is best for me for now but am planning on sticking them all over the metal drawers at my office cubicle since it’s easier to find the letters/prefixes/suffixes you want if they’re all spread out.
When I’m crafting my own poems, passages, and prophecies, it’s sometimes useful to use these tiles as rough draft inspiration, and then just write/type and finish it elsewhere instead of trying to find the perfect tiles to complete the magnetic manifesto.
I also started separating out the sci-fi words to keep my fantasy stuff undiluted!
Here’s a prophecy I created to use either in a gaming adventure or as part of a short story:
If you wind up getting these, let me know how you prefer to use them and feel free to share your magnetic opuses!
“Thanks, J.Q. But I’ve got to get on with the tour. For anyone who be a Lord of the Rings fan, step over this way to the …”
“Latest Lord of the Rings Loot” Shelf
“This section takes up a couple shelves with 61 items guaranteed to make your Earth a little more like Middle-Earth”
“There are LOTR books, T-shirts, glassware, posters, figurines, journals, puzzles, and signs. I try to keep only the newer or lesser-known products for discerning fans like yeselves.”
J.Q.’s Picks
I can’t express to you how amazing “The Lord of the Rings Deluxe Illustrated Box Set” is. Yes, yes, it is pricey, but these are some of the most beautiful books you will ever behold.
They are QUALITY. Midnight-blue leather, otherworldly illustrations by Alan Lee, and the books are even edge-sprayed to make a picture when viewed side-by-side. (There’s even an easter-egg illustration on the inside of the box!)
There are page ribbons (though my Fellowship book is missing it!) and removable maps and post-card sized illustrations.
One of my goals is to one day live in a house where I have my own dedicated library, where all my books and games can live. This is the type of book set that will be proudly displayed front and center (when it’s not on my bedside table being read).
“Boss - ye’re really starting to hold things up here. Look, Millie is expecting me home for dinner tonight and at this rate . . .”
“Come on folks. Next stop …”
“Classic-style D&D Merch” Shelf
“Ahhh, old school Dungeons & Dragons. Just about me favorite stuff - except maybe for Warhammer for reasons ye may understand.”
“Here ye’ll find 76 items of such wonder, of such magnificence.”
“Like what”, ye ask?”
“Like D&D art, Drizzt, Dragonlance, Warduke, wallets, T-shirts, collectibles, creatures, postcards, books, action figures, and more - ALL based on (or about) the old school D&D ye loved from the 70’s and 80’s”
“Which brings us to our next shelf - and don’t think I didn’t see ye staring at Elvira’s salt & pepper shakers!”
“Fun(ny) & Geeky Fantasy Merch” Shelf
“I be not a humor-guy meself, but the boss is, so I keep this shelf stocked for him full of these 28 items.”
“There be humorous tees, cups, signs, books, socks, stickers, and yes, Mistress of the Dark salt n pepper shakers.”
“Anyone here who watched that old Dungeons & Dragons animated cartoon back in the 1980s?”
“Well, ye’re going to love this next shelf …”
“D&D Cartoon (Animated Series)”
“Currently stocked with 32 fun (so I’m told) items with Dungeon Master, Hank, Diana, Sheila, Venger, Presto, Eric and Uni, this shelf includes shirts, stickers, figurines, books, and DVDs”
“Look. I ain’t got nothin’ against ye, but there’s no way we’re going to get through another 15 shelves in time for dinner, so I’ll tell you what.”
“Let’s look at just one more shelf together and then I’ll set ye loose to explore what ye want.”
“Fair?”
“Good. Let’s skip over to our backroom where I keep some really special merch. Welcome to the …”
“Fantastical Gifts for Booklovers & Journalers”
“Now, here you’ll find 26 fantastical-themed journals, bookmarks, bookends, t-shirts, and other book-themed merchandise.”
“Oh, and did I mention the dragon-book nightlight/booklight? I’ll let J.Q. tell ye about it.”
J.Q.’s Picks
Look. I get excited about a lot of fantasy-themed items, but this is one of those things I was so not looking for and honestly didn’t expect much from.
Was it going to look cheap? Would it even work? How much light would it put out? How sturdy is it?
I’m here to tell you, this thing is one of my most favorite purchases . . . ever.
It is gorgeous. It really looks like the picture with that embossed dragon cover.
Ok. So that’s good. But what about the light?
AMAZING. I can’t describe it sufficiently, but when I first cracked it open in the dark a few weeks back, it was pure magic.
There’s a satisfying crinkly sound as the pages expand and comforting light emanates forth from its core.
I was instantly taken back to being a child when I had those solacing nightlights to keep me safe from the dark and monsters. I felt giddy as I sat up in bed reading a book with this dragon book in front of it illuminating my pages and keeping me cozy.
Each time you crack it open, it cycles through different colors, so if you don’t feel like the purplish glow, just close it and open again to see what you get.
I’m not sure how it stays shut when you close it, but it does. Through magnets or origamically-induced magic, the sound the pages & whoosh of air makes when closing is just as satisfying as when opening it.
I have to stop myself from opening & closing it just for the fun of it. You’ll see what I mean.
Speaking of opening, it does really expand up to 360 degrees keeping its perfect-paged geometry. So you could hang it off or wrap it around surfaces (I would just be careful with where you keep it opened so you don’t get the pages prematurely dirtied.)
It plugs into USB to recharge, and I really hope this thing lasts. In fact, I’m planning on buying a spare because it is that darn cool.
“Alright folks. That’s the end of our guided tour, but ye have 14 other shelves to look at if ye like.”
"Here’s a flyer I just had printed that shows a sampling from each o’ the shelves.”
“I’ve got to load some inventory in the back, but holler if ye need anything. And remember to keep checking back. I’m always adding more items and will be soon expanding with even more shelves with different types of merchandise.”

There's some great gift ideas there and you were not joking about the reading light. That could perfect for my daughter as she loves to end the night reading. Keep up the great work and make sure to give Brodryk a day off after all of sales. I'm sure he'll need it.
I'm VERY excited for the new Dragonlance Chronicles edition. In the late 80's (middle school) and early 90's (high school) I was all about Dragonlance, as were my close friends. Our middle school principal noticed us and asked about it, I thought we were going to be in trouble for some reason, but it was quite the opposite. He said he went to college with Tracy Hickman, and was wondering if we wanted to meet him! Just a few weeks later and we were all having lunch with half of our favorite author team! I lived in western Wisconsin, so not super far from the heart of TSR at the time.
Also, I just wanted to say thanks again. I was the fantasy card winner, and they are wonderful.
