A lot of those titles are nostalgic for me. The Fighting Fantasy and Lone Wolf books got me into gaming when I was really young and not too many other kids were slinging dice.

How cool, Michael! The first time I encountered those books was when the Scholastic Bookmobile rode into town in elementary school. They felt so incredibly special. Still remember the excitement like it was yesterday. Thanks for sharing!

Hildebrandt’s work created the wonder and legend of fantasy for me in my early teens. His work is part of what attracted me to fantasy. RIP

Well said, John. It's amazing how much influence an artist can have on how we see our own world - even when they are portraying fantastical worlds that only exist in the Imagination.

It sounds like Greg & Tim lit up your imagination too with the wonders they created. Thanks for sharing.

Winning this would make great gifts for my D&D group.

Sad to see that Greg has passed. His work had inspired me to become an artist.

I imagine you would be crowned KING of your D&D group, if you bequeathed this unto them, SlothFang. 👑

That's super cool about Greg's influence on your career (and you becoming an artist!) I can't recall if we talked about this before - do you still do art? If so, tell me where I can see some of your stuff.

You sometimes don't realize how much influence someone has on your life. My first thought of what fantasy looks like is filled with Greg's artwork and I know I'm not the only one. That is a dragon's hoard of a giveaway and also is there possible album in the future collecting all of these great songs?

Well said about Greg, Eric. You definitely aren't the only one. A huge debt of gratitude goes to all the artists, authors and visionaries who provided us inspirational glimpses into their fantastical imaginations.

I like the idea about a compilation song album! Help me figure out what that looks like. A separate podcast channel here on Rediscovered Realms? Creating videos on YouTube? Something other?

Hmm, maybe YouTube playlist. Though I don't know much on how that would work. I'm sure someone in the community here could give some tips and maybe even some artwork ideas for the videos.

Such a cool giveaway. Those Lone Wolf books really take me back.

Right on, Matthew, welcome to the contest!

Hi J.Q.! I just wanted to say thank you for what you do. From your epic give-aways to your newsletter that stirs up old feelings and memories and help me to discover more cool fantasy stuff. A big THANK YOU, my friend!

Ash - thank you for those kind words! When I started Rediscovered Realms (almost 2 years ago now!) it felt pretty lonely - not knowing if what I was writing was cool, acceptable, and most of all resonating with readers. It helps so much to get some comments these days (even if I have to occasionally bribe folks 😁) So I can't tell you how meaningful it is for me to hear from fellow adventurers like yourself that maybe, just maybe, I'm on the right path.

Loved solo game books, of all varieties. Bought them whenever my fave local used book store had them in stock. I should find where I’d boxed them up and dig them out, for nostalgia’s sake.

YES! You need to do that, Bree. Find that treasure chest and unleash the magic! 📚✨

I used to love the Lone Wolf books when I was younger and Hero quest was my first dungeon style game. Thanks for the great contest!

That's cool, Jonathan! I never got to play HeroQuest as a kid, but did get to enjoy some of those Lone Wolf books (some of my favorite ever). Thanks for commenting!

I was glad to see the HeroQuest rerelease. It’s a great introduction to ttrpgs, and my older kid has been eager to start, so I think it’ll be his intro just like it was my intro

That sounds like a good plan, Will! Lighting that torch (or candle, because there is no torch emoji) for the next generation. 🕯

My DnD group would be feral for this.

Some really interesting things in here including some that would catch the attention of some younger players (like my own little goblins, been promising to DM them another session.)

I've heard good things about a few of the titles, but I am certainly eyeing that cookbook.

Right on, Karris! My brother was raving about that cookbook a few years ago and I thought how cool it would be to include a copy in this giveaway. Just imagine, if you win, you'll be able to provide the 4 basic food groups (Imagination, Adventure, Fun, Vittles) to your little goblins, so they can grow up strong, obtain glory, and of course, repel any would-be invaders from their dwellings.

it certainly is! very fitting too. aaah yes the 4 must haves for little goblins!

Wow, that's a massive giveaway ! Will definitely be a nice Xmas gift to the lucky winner. Good luck to everyone :)

Thats a really generous package, JQ.

I had Heroquest, which was a fun replacement for DnD when I didnt have any friends around to play. I even had my own set of modified rules to incorporate the furniture into the adventures.

Nice, Kveto! Are you referring to the 1982 "D&D IKEA Miniature Manual II"? 😁
