This Week’s Rediscovered Realms Theme Song:
From the brand new released original fantasy soundtrack album, “Tales of Adventure Volume I” comes this gentle prelude to adventure - sunrise on the road, a dream in the distance . . .
| Genre: Tabletop Ambient/Fantasy Synth | Instrumental (No Lyrics)|
A Wanderer’s Tale
If you like that song, you’ll want to check out samples from the other 15 tracks (“The Caffeinated Bard” is one of my personal favorites!)

Here’s an interesting history & article about “How the Brothers Grimm Became Martyrs to Academic Freedom”
“Pick any era, and you can name an authoritarian who tried to napalm academia. But you might not know that the brothers who gave the world Hansel and Gretel once became victims and heroes, too, or how the aftermath of their case still matters today.”
Have you seen what was released just today? LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook!!!
It can be separated from its functional book nook mode to have fun outside the realm of the book shelf!
So you want a Ranger cloak? “Nah,” you say. “It’d have to be waterproof.” Your wish has been granted.
I’ve been tracking Knightweave for a while and they seem to have some of the highest quality cloaks in the business with different styles and colors. I’m not saying I ordered one, but the next time you see me, you may not be able to make out the features of my face within the dark shadowed folds …
If waterproof isn’t your thing, they just also released a lightweight “Sun Cloak” that is super-affordable.
Regular Rediscovered Realms Readers (that’s a lot of ‘R’s!) know how cool fantasy artist, Luke Eidenschink’s, pen & ink illustrations are. If you missed his latest volume of Collected Artwork, make sure to late-pledge over at Kickstarter while you still can!
Speaking of great fantasy art, have you seen that there’s a brand new Frazetta art book available for pre-order: “Frank Frazetta: Fine Lines”!
“Including many of his influential illustrations from the 1960s and '70s for the fiction of Edgar Rice Burroughs and J.R.R. Tolkien, this beautiful book also features nearly a dozen previously unpublished drawings along with historical essays sharing the stories behind the art.”
Here’s a beautiful fantasy music video by Patty Gurdy, called “Rise Up”
Patty: “Sometimes life gets hard and we need to start from scratch - so this song celebrates your bravery! Give me a sword ⚔️ if you agree!”

From CBR comes this fun listicle: “10 Old-School Fantasy TV Shows That Are Still Awesome Today”
There’s a few on here I’ve never heard of and may need to check out!
With summer Ren Fair season upon us, it got me thinking about the actual mechanics of how sword swallowers do the amazing thing that they do and if there are any long-term effects. After some digging, I came across this fascinating medical study: “Sword swallowing and its side effects”.
One of the biggest takeaways if you are a sword swallower: DON’T GET DISTRACTED! Ever.
Another reason to move to the UK: “Lord of the Rings to get HUGE attraction in new UK theme park - 30 years after first film hits screens”
With how expensive theme-park food is, I wonder how much money second breakfasts will set me back!
The fantasy computer game covers from the 80s and 90s were so epic. It got me thinking about one of my favorites: “Legacy of the Ancients” - one of the few games I actually won! Researching the artist, I came across this wonderful tribute to him: “R.I.P. Artist Dave McMacken: A Belated Discovery”
Here’s a fun-looking new co-op D&D themed game for “Horrified”. I’ve never played any of the others in this Ravensburger series, but Chris Carter’s review on ScreenRant actually makes it sound pretty good:
“If you've never played Horrified before, the setup is straightforward, as well as modular. Your ultimate goal is to slay all the monsters in any given session as a team, all of which have differing objectives, puzzles, and requirements. You'll move across a game board to different locations, picking up items along the way to solve said puzzles or defeat each monster, on top of guiding friendly NPCs to safety. Naturally, monsters can add wrinkles to the quest and have their own phases (governed by a monster deck) that kick off after the end of every single player's turn.”
And finally, to inspire the fantasy artist in all of us, take 1 minute to see how we can sketch this knight!
Your next piece of fantasy fun is calling.

The Lord of the Rings park sounds interesting and fandom is definitely still there for it. In the last year or two we've had a ton of mountain cabins here in N Georgia, SE Tennessee, and SW North Carolina converting into Hobbit Houses or other fantasy themed cabins.
