These are great J.Q. 😁

I always used to love all the wee funny cartoons they had in old editions of The Players Handbook and in Dragon magazine. I also remember they had a cartoon strip in White Dwarf called Thrud the Barbarian which was always a favourite 👍🏼

Oh nice! I never was able to grab White Dwarf around where I lived as a kid, but I may just be coming into some from a nice chap over in the UK. I'll definitely be looking for Thrud, Dan!

I loved those back in the day. Do you remember the one where there was a simplisic D&D guy standing next to two ell armored guys carrying complex weapons, one was a half orc assassin… and he says “Hey are you guys from the basic set or the advanced one? “

😂 Yes, that rings a bell, but your words describing the scene make me laugh all the same!

Interesting find, JQ. My buddy and I wrote our own book of humour comics inspired by the old joke panels featured in the Ad&d rulebooks. Remember those? I remember one about finding a wand that was a +3 backscratcher. The kind of humour teen roleplayers could appreciate.

Absolutely, Kveto! I'd love to see your book (or pics) if you still have it.

Dragon Mirth was always the first thing I read when my Dragon came in the mail. Yeah, they were 'Dad jokes', but I found them hilarious (still do).

Right on, David! It's funny how our entire generation (and the one before ours) didn't call them "Dad Jokes" - they were just jokes! I remember also really liking the comic strips in the local newspapers back then - especially The Wizard of Id and Hägar the Horrible.

New song sounds great. Honestly would fit perfectly over the opening/credits of fantasy movie from the 80/90s. Always enjoyed the fantasy cartoons in Dragon magazine and other places. And agree with Heavy Cavalry, that Lego set is amazing.
