I've never managed to read any of the cartoon books, but I admitedly haven't tried that hard to find them. Thanks for the interior scans as I wondered if they were in 2nd person or not. They look like they follow the format of the show. It was a good idea to do one story for each character.
As a kid, before I started playing, I though D&D was the simple version for young kids and Advanced D&D was what older kids graduated into after paying for years. I though the kids were D&Dand the LJN characters like Strongheart and Warduke were from the "older kids/advanced" version.
Oh my gosh, I never put it into words before, but that's exactly what I thought as well! about D&D & AD&D!
Yes, the 1-book-per-character mechanic was cool - it was just a little weird to play Eric's little brother instead of him. I wonder if they did that because Eric is almost always a jerk, and they didn't want to have to put in jerk choices. 😁
I imagine that was the thinking behind replacing Eric. I generally prefered Eric to the other characters as he had a more developed personality (Diana and Presto and to an extent Hank were all pretty generic), the coolest weapon, and to be honest was usually right (especially about calling out the Dungeon Master's deliberate vagueness).
Adam - the more I write my newsletters and reminisce, the more I agree with your statement! Of course, it wasn't all good, but damn, I'm really tempted to sell my house and commit all my resources to creating a time machine. Thanks for reading Rediscovered Realms!

Those were the days, my friend! There was no better decade to grow up in than the 80's!

You're most welcome! Thanks for bringing back these great memories of the time.
