A change of year, a change of calendar(s). Rediscovered Realms unearthed 3 old school TSR & Tolkien fantasy calendars from 1986, 1997, and 2003 that can be used again in 2025. Let’s check ‘em out!
I didn't. Even though I was writing up a storm back then, especially around D&D and other RPGs, I was not very confident in their quality. Besides a few monsters I tried submitting to Dragon magazine and letters to Marvel comics, I kept it all to myself.
Love those old calendars. Will have to keep in mind they can be reused. Also the pinball machine gives a whole new definition to Pinball Wizard. Sorry couldn't help myself.
LOL! Actually - I can't believe I didn't think of that connection! I mean, The Who recently released that song not too long ago. Or at least that's what I thought. I remember hearing it all the time on the "classic rock" radio stations in the 80's and 90s. But guess when it came out? 1969!!! (I don't think I ever watched the entire "Tommy" rock opera - but if I ever get that sweet D&D pinball machine . . .)
I had the TSR’s “Amazing Stories: Tales Bizarre and Fantastic” calendar bought it at Waldenbooks and it was up on my wall still well into the 1990s.
How cool! Did you enter into the short story contest?

It didn't realize it was that old, I was thinking mid to late 70s. Yeah it just wouldn't feel right turning it on without playing the song each time.
always loved the fantasy calendars , the pictures would suck me in as a kid
Absolutely! Did any of your childhood calendars survive through today?
some had, particularly the LotRs, but I am no longer sure if they are in the library or lost to time
"Damn you, TIME!!!!!" ⏳
Thanks Marc - glad you enjoyed it! You tempted to put one on your wall this year?
Uh-oh. Sounds like you've been bit by the Calendar-Bug, Marc!
