Rediscovered Realms is catching you up on some of the coolest fantasy news that just won’t fit in our regular weekly edition. Welcome to the October issue of The Phantasy Snitch!
When I was about 15, I discovered Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks. I fell in love with the series. Fast forward about 20 years later or so when Terry Brooks wrote The Phantom Menace novelization and did a book signing at the Barnes and Noble that I worked at!!!! I got both books signed. He was really nice! Cool to see the book in your horde! 😊
Wow - you got to work at a Terry Brooks B&N signing! That's awesome, Robin! I was probably around the same age when I discovered those first 3 Shannara books. Elfstones was always my favorite, but I go back and forth between that one and Sword. (As you have already heard from me before, both covers are some of my favorite fantasy art ever!)
Some great memories here! I have recently been playing my first DnD campaign after having only read about the adventures in the past. Such a super fun game!
Oh man. Like you, Eric, I love looking at these types of auctions - but am also usually shocked out how high the prices get! I bet this Henson auction is going to attract some big bucks (as I sit on the sidelines and cheer them on.)
There’s a remake of the 1980s fantasy movie Deathstalker coming out from the director of Psycho Goreman and Frankie Freako starring Patton Oswalt. Looks like it’ll be wild! I thought of you.
Thank you, Geoffrey! I had seen a clip about that, and it got me really excited. Re-watching the link you shared has now reinvigorated my soul (and most likely my life's purpose). "What life purpose?" you ask. Well, to wield a sword too big to fit through a doorframe, of course!

Badass, Jim! So happy you're getting to play. You DMing or Adventuring?
Adventuring!
The Henson auction has some really cool pieces. It's always fun to window shop with those kinds of auctions.

What's the joke, I won't tell people I won the lottery but there will be signs. "Is that a puppet from Labyrinth in the corner" ha
LMAO! . . . or . . . what an interesting door knocker . . .
Oh I like that idea

Last night, I actually saw Deathstalker and it rules! I think you’ll love it. ⚔️
Righteous! (I love those old-school fantasy camp spectacles)
