The D&D exhibition at Universal Fanfest does look great, and I'd love to see it. But unfortunately being in Orlando doesn't help me since it's at the Universal on the other side of the country. :)
It's tough to say. From what I know/can sense (haven't actually been to the CA location in decades), there's a very different vibe to the two US locations. FL is a theme park that also accommodated production (nowhere near as much now as in the early days), while CA is nearly the opposite. They did have the historic tram tour first, but it feels like their theme park didn't really get going until after FL. And they've had to make do with the split level space and all.
For a while, the FL park did have a number of festival and similar things that came through, especially in the 2000s/2010s. There was a Harry Potter related event that happened over at least a few years as well as some circus & extreme sports type of ones. But the last of these was well before the COVID closure, and I've not heard any hints of anything like that to come.
The fantasy world I never get tired of is the world Shannara created by Terry Brooks. I reread his books every so often.
