Yes, it has finally arrived - and yes, you and I are going to unbox it right now. Dark Tower - the most amazing fantasy electronic boardgame from the early 80s has been re-made, risen and now casts its dreadful shadow upon all who enter within the perimeter of its brigand-riddled circular game board.
“Return to Dark Tower” is hot off the press from Restoration Games. Over 23,000 backers pledged more than $4,000,000 on their original 2020 Kickstarter to resurrect & update this beloved game.
I signed up for the 2nd printing which achieved over $2,000,000 the summer of last year (along with 17,000 other backers) and am so thrilled to have finally received it!
Do you want to see it?
Prepare to be amazed.
In fact, there is so much to see and there is so much to talk about, I have decided to make this into a 3-part series over the coming weeks.
“Part 1: The Return of the Dark Tower” - unboxing and reveling in the glorious sights & smells (sounds will be in part 3) of the “Return to Dark Tower” core set
“Part 2: The Two Dark Towers” - Join me as we observe the battle between the old-school Dark Tower and the new fancy-fresh Dark Tower
“Part 3: The Fellowship of the Dark Tower” - Unboxing & Revealing the 3 expansion sets (“Alliances”, “Covenant”, and “Dark Horde”), the Kickstarter perks & extras, and kicking back to enjoy & discuss the gameplay with some friends
Everything is of such high-quality. I can’t help but have flashbacks to opening the 1st Dark Tower as a little kid back in the early 80s, but that story is for the next part in this series!
I LOVE the smell of fresh game cardboard. There’s something that makes the semi-sweet odor smack of adventure & excitement.

Well, what did you think?
I’m not going to let this one sit on the shelf and collect dust. The instruction manual is now promoted to my primary bathroom reader so I can learn the secrets to this new Dark Tower universe and start playing as soon as possible.
I just wish I had some vacation days to burn. Perhaps one of you in our adventuring party can write me a doctor’s note instead?
What a thrill it is that prophecy has been fulfilled and the Dark Tower has finally returned to claim its rightful place . . . smack dab in the center of the gameboard.
