Loved the dive into the Heroes Journey topic and will need to take look at those books. And like Heavy Cav mentioned not too calls left but my goal now is to take make sure my daughter is able to answer hers.
Reading this essay now and finding your work has given me feelings of comfort in knowing there are others out there who enjoy fantasy so much they live and breathe it. And I think that, at the age of 30, I've heard my own calls to adventure of learning to create artwork (specifically fantasy artwork), and yet never took up the pen.
But I think about all the moments in my life where my health had threatened me, where I overexerted myself in the wrong endeavor, and only in recent months do I find it important now to write to think clearer, read works like these to be inspired, and remain resolute that my call to adventure is a gift that ought not to go unanswered.
Nearing 60 I am past most of my calls to adventure, and am merely striving to be like Farmer Maggot and live my best Shire Life
