This looks worthy of a purchase chiefly for the illustrations and ideas of undiscovered books and shows. Side not I watched Wizards and Warriors on network TV as a young gamer and was bitterly disappointed when it was canceled/ not renewed.

Great call out! Yes - there are so many shows, books & movies I would probably never become aware of without them being listed out in a format like this.

Didn't realize a newer edition of this tome was published in 2021. Thanks to you, that's been ordered. As for the "Wizards and Warriors" TV show, I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Watched it with fervor when it was originally airing on US television and picked up the full DVD set during the pandemic. It was just as much fun as I'd remembered! Thanks for a great post and here's to a superb 2026.

Right on, Matt! Let me know how you like the book and if you think the original one is still worth picking up.

Dude - I am so stoked about Wizards and Warriors! I can't wait until the DVD arrives.

What a neat book! Just the images you shared brought back a ton of memories, and also jogged my memory of a few interests from my past. Every time I visit a bookstore I head to the fantasy section. For my money, it is the best genre out there because of the world building.

It's a really fun book, Jim. With the latest revision, it covers most stuff up until around 2019 which is great for younger fantasy fans, so they can identify some of the books, movies and games they grew up with in more recent years. A good bridge between generations of fantasy fans!

Gotta second Heavy Cavalry. Looks to be good source for missed missed books and shows. Or like Wizard and Warriors, things I remember but not enough to remember to find it online.

Well said, Eric! "things I remember but not enough to remember to find it online." As time goes on and I get <a little> older, I can add, "things I used to remember . . ." 😁
